Throwing Stuff Away

with 16 comments

So, let’s just get to the topic you really want to discuss with today’s comic: that Chimnea tealight holder. I believe it came from one of my mother’s students (she teaches monsters…I mean kindergarten kids) and that means when it comes to gift-time, she gets the short end of the stick. Sometimes she makes out okay. A WaWa gift card, perhaps. Most of the time she gets the unexplainable or a scented candle. Yet, this magnificently molded tealight holder, well…it really did make you pause and ponder your place in the universe. To the horror of my father (actually, he never knew), Momma Dukes was going to just throw it away, but I quickly snapped at the chance to have it.

Why?

Can’t say. Call me a packrat or call me compulsive. I wanted it, and then I put it on top of my fridge for a few months, watching it collect dust like everything else does in this closet I live in. Well, today I realized what I could do with it. THROW IT AWAY.

…Oh? That wasn’t what interested you the most? Was it the duck sauce? The cond–whoops, sorry folks, we’re outta time! Talk amongst yourselves.

  1. don’t feel bad, I never throw anything out either… or I feel bad for inanimate objects. If you talk to Monica she’ll tell you a funny story about a clock she used to have…that I now have, because she wanted to throw it away but I wouldn’t let her! So now I have it, even though it doesn’t work, I am not going to throw it away. Well, now you don’t need to ask her, because I explained it all right here.

    …… Those condoms were EXPIRED??

  8. Ah, I am NOT alone. Thank you. I am relieved. I am forcing myself to clean a closet, but it hurts.

Best wishes to all us pack rats!

  9. hello comic people! i just start learning to draw. yeah.. i am not so talented, but i think its still possible for me 😉

ps: does condom really have an expiry date? will it cause a health problem when we use it expired?
its better not to use condom, but you must have a good timing.. hehehe.. just pull it out guys!

  10. Anna: I say if you can throw away at least one item from your closet than you’ve done a good job. 😛

Woody Green: Yup, they really do. It’s not written on the box, but the individual condoms themselves. Thanks for visiting!

  11. Okay, let’s over-psycho-analyze these three items.

Duck Sauce = It appears you have been eating too much Chinese food Paul. Maybe you should get out and socialize a little more. Try some Italian or Mexican food. At the very least, get out of your apartment.

Tealight Holder = You may ask how I know you live in an apartment. This Tealight Holder says it all. Those who live in houses have the same holders but much more of them. So by wanting one, you have simply proved you have plenty of room in your linen closet, therefore you have not spent enough time in an apartment to collect enough junk to need a house.

Expired Condoms = These pretty much speak for themselves. But I think there’s something more to this story than you not having sex frequently. No, I think this speaks of you being an upstanding man who wants to wait for the right woman. Believe it or not, this is a good thing. It simply means you are a “nice guy.”

PS – I got my pshycosis degreed from the Froot Loup box.
