#342 – Starbucks Orders

I’m too polite.

That said, you’re all a bunch of ugly monkeys! And you smell, too! You’re a bunch of stinky, smelly people and I’ve been holding back on tellin’ you just how much you reek for far too long and that some of you certainly need to shower a wee bit longer. Soap is your friend, not thy enemy. Work it cause man oh man is the wallpaper starting to peel….eh, I can’t do this. You’re all the bestest ever. I can’t be anything but thankful for my readership. I say “please” and “thank you” like…okay, I just spent fifteen minutes trying to come up with a really solid and substantial comparison, but all I kept typing was “like Randy Jackson says ‘yo, dog.'” Gah. Anyways, I say it a lot. ACCEPT IT, world. Please…thank you.

In other news, Sam Tomaino from the SFRevu Review recently gave the latest issue of Kaleidotrope a read. He touches very briefly on all the stories here, describing mine as such: Paul Abbamondi weighs in with “She’s a Hearth,” the story of a young girl who goes way too far to warm a worthless boy’s heart. Yup, that about sums it up. Overall, he was pleased with the magazine. Which, y’know, is pleasing to me. Cause I’m in it.

Oh, and it is Friday. Mmm Friday, how I’ve longed for you all week long. I’ll be dog-sitting Penny the Princess and three kitty cats, watching Battlestar Galactica with Tara, and entertaining Momma Dukes and D as they visit on Sunday. Whew. What are your plans?

There’s a gentleman who’s not so gentle
Cause he’s too generous with his chit and his chat
So lately we’ve been discussing a way to rid
This disgusting example of ample gossip and gab
All we hear is la la la…

#326 – Elevator VS. Stairs

with 6 comments

This is a decision I have to make two times a day, five days a week…and boy is it a doozy. Yesterday, I went with the elevator and ended up getting stuck in the middle of two people having a deeply heated conversation about that viral video sweeping the web lately. You know, the one where the teenagers kidnap that girl and beat on her a lot. Well, I guess I’m not enough to stop their chit-chatting as they happily spoke through me. Ugh.

The stairs in my work building are quite narrow, which means if someone is running down behind you there are only two options: 1) make love to the wall so they can pass or 2) try and speed things up yourself, which can be dangerous and exhausting all at once. So, erm, yeah. These are the sorts of dilemmas that plague my daily existence. I know, you’re astounded.

Site-wise, I’ve added a section to the MyLifeComics sidebar for most recent comments. If any are interested, they can sign up with WordPress to upload their own avatar or can grab one free over at gravatar.com. Maybe I might even draw a few this weekend that people can use…

Speaking of the weekend, what is everybody up to? Tonight is a new episode of Battlestar Galactica. Really, that’s all that matters to me. Eh, just kidding. I’d love to finish up some freelance work I have laying around the place. And then sleep. Sleep, sleep, sleep…

#321 – New Band Names

with 8 comments

There were plenty more suggestions though now I can’t seem to remember some of them. I think two others were “I’m 24, You Can Tell Me” and “Malaysia,” but I will not swear to those. Oi. I doubt I can stop y’all from offering even more band names, so go ahead. Have fun. But I suspect I will stay with what I know. I mean, it’s not like I’m some mega-star headlining international tours. I’m just me. You know, Heavensday. Playing at teeny tiny cafes sometime in the near future…

Weekend plans, people?

I’m heading up to Pennsylvania tonight after work for the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica. Mmm. I CANNOT WAIT. Also, for those not in the know, here’s What the Frak?, an eight-minute recap of everything that has happened up to this point in the far-too-smart series. I totally forgot a lot of stuff from Season Two, especially the part where spoiler is taken to that spoiler and her spoilers are stolen by spoiler.

There’s wit and humor and explosions. Plus, lots of girl fights. Check it out, and then watch tonight on Sci-Fi! SO SAY WE ALL!
