Keep Moving Sign Creates the Opposite Effect

Ah, here we are a few days prior to Thanksgiving (I’m posting this on 11/24/08, if any of y’all are confused or lost or just haven’t taken your memory pills yet), and we now get to the Halloween comic. Oh well. I’m super behind, and there’s not a lot that can be done to help that. I’m only going to get even more behind the times as this will be the last comic for some days. I’m heading down to my parents soon for Turkey Break and have no comics in the backlog, which means I gotta…er, draw more. Which I will do, me promises. But being scannerless will toss up some brick walls. That’s okay though, right? You guys will wait? Say you’ll wait for me. Say you’ll never leave me. Say it.

Don’t worry now, it’s all come back
Color rests in night
You’ll be there, you’ll see her face
And hear her all the while

Site Stats Are a Mountain to Climb

with 11 comments

2008-10-27

Bonus laughs if you know what my last name means in Italian…and bonus bonus laughs if you know the meaning of my first name. Irony is a cruel kitten, and I’ll leave you to your research.

So yeah, seeing as today’s comic is all about site stats and folks reading my journal comics, I’m gonna put on the puppy eyes and ask that if you like my work–which, for all purposes at the moment, is basically a colored journal comic a day–then how about sharing this appreciation with the universe? The truth is I have a very small readership (no crying, I less than three all of you as if you were tuna sandwiches or unagi rolls!), but a little link to here can’t ever hurt and will only assist me in achieving the status of Supreme Being or something akin to that. Plus, I love comments…so let’s get more commenters up in this shack!

This is me sucking a self-promotion. Please help.

I’ll tell you how the story’s told
I always wanted so much more
And way on down the road
I caught a glimpse of the sunlight

New theme for MyLifeComics

with 11 comments

Just so you’re aware, I’ve switched to a new WordPress theme for MyLifeComics. It is devoid of color, bleak, and barren–and I like it.

#352 – No Pauls

with 9 comments

Let’s see, let’s see. Yesterday’s bacon comic strip is currently being featured on the front page of WordPress. That’s nice. Hello, new visitors. Please say hi! I won’t bite! Also, evidently just mentioning bacon gets people all excited. Like…orgasm excited. I guess that’s good to know.

Mmm Friday is here, quickly to be followed by the weekend. Hopefully not too quickly. Hmm, here’s a first in a long time. I’m going to spend some of it with my girlfriend. And I solemnly swear that I will finish up all my freelance work this weekend so that it can be dead and done and out of my mind. Please tell me what y’all are up to. Bonus points if you mention either ice cream or gardening.

Question of the day: Excluding me, do you know another Paul? If you don’t, give me a dollar.

Always waiting
For my ride to pick me up on my time
Seems I’m staying
As the others cross the finish lines
I could break into day I could set into speed
But to tell you the truth I’m always waiting
Always waiting

#331 – Showery Thoughts

with 12 comments

Big thanks to WordPress for putting my comic strip again on their front page! Got lots of new visitors from it, which is always nice. Now let’s hope some stick around…

But yay, it’s Friday! And I’m going to Comic Con tomorrow, where I will drown myself in all things geeky and great! Woooooo! And maybe I’ll run into the Pope at some point or another? Maybe.

Now that you know my weekend plans, please tell me yours.

The dogs and pigeons fly up and they flutter around,
A man with a badge skips by,
Three fellas crawlin’ on their way back to work,
Nobody stops to ask why.

#326 – Elevator VS. Stairs

with 6 comments

This is a decision I have to make two times a day, five days a week…and boy is it a doozy. Yesterday, I went with the elevator and ended up getting stuck in the middle of two people having a deeply heated conversation about that viral video sweeping the web lately. You know, the one where the teenagers kidnap that girl and beat on her a lot. Well, I guess I’m not enough to stop their chit-chatting as they happily spoke through me. Ugh.

The stairs in my work building are quite narrow, which means if someone is running down behind you there are only two options: 1) make love to the wall so they can pass or 2) try and speed things up yourself, which can be dangerous and exhausting all at once. So, erm, yeah. These are the sorts of dilemmas that plague my daily existence. I know, you’re astounded.

Site-wise, I’ve added a section to the MyLifeComics sidebar for most recent comments. If any are interested, they can sign up with WordPress to upload their own avatar or can grab one free over at gravatar.com. Maybe I might even draw a few this weekend that people can use…

Speaking of the weekend, what is everybody up to? Tonight is a new episode of Battlestar Galactica. Really, that’s all that matters to me. Eh, just kidding. I’d love to finish up some freelance work I have laying around the place. And then sleep. Sleep, sleep, sleep…

#322 – An Old Desk

with 8 comments

Ugh. I think only Kelly will really know what I’m talking about here, but WordPress has changed its whole dashboard layout and now I’m more confused than ever. DO NOT WANT, says the LOLcat.

Anyways, I’m sort of like an elephant…in that I work for food. Just not peanuts. Carrying a (pink!) desk down some stairs in exchange for dinner? Sure, sounds like a deal to me. Nom nom nom…

So, what was the last piece of heavy furniture that you moved?
