#385 – Bitsy Goes Golfing

with 5 comments

Yes, another golfing comic. Deal with it. In fact, there’ll be a third one in the upcoming days. Yes, I’m a wee bit more active these days. Long gone are the days where I go to Quiznos, chat up the locals, and draw about the mayhem that ensues…

Bitsy, pay attention to this paragraph. Animal Crossing: City Folk was just announced today, and you can check out the trailer for it here! It’s for the Wii, and you take a bus into the city where all the shops, plus new ones, seem to be. Other than that and a few new holidays to be celebrated, it seems to be the same game as AC: WW, but it is hard to tell. Will have to wait for more information. This might be the sole reason to buy a Wii, I tell you:

Get down, summer in the city!

Get down, summer in the city!

Fuck yes!

Also, Joss Whedon fans unite! Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is absolutely wonderful and well worth watching. It’s got a great cast, a fun plot, and silly songs. By the gods of Kobol are the songs catchy! And it’ll only be up for a short time so get on it now. Okay, that’s enough outta me.

Snapple Real Facts #68: The longest one-syllable word is “screeched.”

Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

#375 – Chili’s Hostess

with 8 comments

I’m really tired and unsatisfied with the way my comics have been looking with the black background. I don’t even remember why I started doing it anyways. To be different, perhaps? But we’re going this way now, with a typewriter-esque font for the date. I like it. You should too. If not, well…suck a cow.

Now, I know you’re all on the edge of your seats here to learn who I’ve declared as the winner of the Name My MacBook contest. So, I’ll announce the winner…right after the commercial break.

Ah, wasn’t that refreshing? So, the winner is…treenieweenie! She must know that, deep down, I’m a simple man with simple passions, one of those being pasta. Thus, from this day forth, my laptop shall be known as Macaroni! Long live, Macaroni! Huzzah, huzzah! ::tosses confetti and watches fireworks::

Thanks to all that threw down their suggestions. A lot of them were great, really. Trina, I’ll start working on your undersea adventure artwork over the weekend.

Question of the day: How many snobs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Half of the time we’re gone
But we don’t know where
And we don’t know where

#371 – Bitsy’s Favorite Videogame

with 13 comments

Happy birthday, Bitsy! May it be filled with presents drifting from balloons, pantless chipmunks, and pixelated cakestuff! I can’t wait for you to come home for summer vacation so we can visit each other’s towns and fish and decorate our houses (by that, of course, I mean you give me rare furniture to make mine prettier). We’re almost there! Can you smell the beach, shoobies, and boardwalk za?

The birthday girl also told me to search this video out, a mesh of old school dance footage that is synced flawlessly with some rap song, which I will admit is pretty entertaining:

If I had one-fifth of the dancing skills as the lovely ladies above here have I could rule the world..

To those reading this that are not my sister (that’d be most of you), the weekend has arrived. What does that mean for y’all? I’ll be avoiding the heat, hanging out with the girlfriend, and possibly making the big purchase I alluded to earlier. You all assumed I already made it, and you know what assuming does, right? ASS-U-ME. For shame! Anyways, give me your plans. You will receive bonus points if you use any of the following three words: lull, escapade, or zenith.

No time frame, for what I need to do today
Here at the yellow house. I think I’m gonna play
With free-livin’ lads down the street aways away
As I feel the moon rise
The time that all feels is the right time
Here in our sleepy house

#359 – Entering Victoria’s Secret

with 12 comments

Mmm yeah, it’s as if everything in Victoria’s Secret is seemingly laced with plutonium or sulfuric acid. I kid, I kid. It’s not that bad. Well, maybe.

But enough about that. Let’s get on to the real meat of today’s post. And that would be? Why, Italian Spiderman, of course:

Did you watch it? Huh? It’s both ridiculous and awesome, sort of like an extra super large jumbo sandwich brimming with extra cheese and pickles! I would totally watch this if it were a movie. Oh wait. It sort of really is one. More like a made for-the-web TV show, with the first episode here, which is even more awesomer (not a word) than the trailer leads one to believe. All I’m gonna say is that it ends with a blast and that Toby Maguire really needs to be packing a pump-action shotgun in Spiderman 4. Needless to say, I’m a follower.

Lingerie and bad Italian mustaches. You really do get it all here at MyLifeComics

Fill these spaces up with days
in my room you can go you can stay
I can’t sleep
I can’t speak to you, I can’t sleep
now these years locked on my drawer
I’ll open to see just to be sure

#353 – Picking a Movie

with 6 comments

Tough choice, yes?

I don’t have much to say because I worked myself like a dog today, drawing and coloring thingies, taking only small breaks to watch some of the Indiana Jones marathon that was on this afternoon. I still say that The Temple of Doom is the best, quickly followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark, and then, distantly, oh so distantly, trailing like a dying beast that is slowly succumbing to a mixture of exhaustion and dehydration, is The Last Crusade. It’s too campy…even for me. Sean Connery alone does not make a film great.

And I don’t know about this new one, this Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. My Spider Sense is tingling, warning me that my childhood nostalgia is in danger. We’ll see…

Snakes! Why’d it have to be snakes?!

That is all.

They were looking for me when I came to
They were looking for me when I came back
Said, “Hey you, you’re looking very suspicious”
I said, “Relax man get off my back”

#344 – Playing for Penny

with 8 comments

Here’s the hard version, with screaming and head twitches from original Saosin singer Anthony Green:

I play it just as sporadic, but somehow a wee bit softer. Plus, um, acoustically. Regardless, Penny was not a fan. She bowed out of the mosh pit and made for safe keeping on Pam’s bed. I was hoping she’d come back up and throw her bra at me. Penny, not Pam. No, Penny doesn’t wear a bra. Okay, this is getting out of hand.

Question of the day: Did you eat Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo? I didn’t, but I did drive by Chevy’s with my window down and that smelled pretty dang fantastic. Then again, I had some over the weekend. So if you had it, kudos to you, y’know, for celebrating your love for the initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

#341 – Feist Album

with 9 comments

You’ve heard of Feist, right? If not, here’s a refresher:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now that song will be in my head for the next 18 hours. One, two, three, four, so many pretty colors, colors galore…

Question of the day: What was the last CD you bought? I don’t mean downloaded off of iTunes. A real, physical CD. If your answer, however, is either Kidz Bop 13 or Monks Gone Punk: The Chants of the Night, you need to take a good, long look at your life and re-evaluate what truly matters.

N’allez jamais trop vite
Vous avez tout le temps
Attention à la dynamite
Prenez garde aux volcans
A ces jeunes énervés
Qui ne savent pas aller
