The Gift Card Conundrum

with 7 comments

I immediately went home and threw it in the trashcan. Either way, I still can’t get the Target kid’s look of abstract horror out of my mind. I mean, really, who in their right mind gets a card with $0.01 on it? Only a madman, that’s who! All right, I’m going to go work on my evil robot then…

REMINDER: I’m posting TWO comics a day until the week is over. Check below for an earlier comic!

They tell me to be discreet for all intended purposes
They tell me revenge is sweet and from where they stand, I’m sure it is
But I feel nothing for their game where beauty goes unrecognized
All I feel is heat and flame and all I see are dark eyes

Ocean City Air Show Accident-Free

with 8 comments

Those planes do some crazy maneuvers, twisting and turning like drunk snakes, soaring straight up into the sky until they flip themselves upside-down or zooming along beside their brothers. It’s enough to tighten one’s heartstrings, even if it is also exciting at the same time. I have vague memories of going to one or two air shows with my father when I was younger, but all that really materializes for me is the blur of something large and the whoosh it leaves in its wake…

On a note completely unrelated to today’s comic, I’ve discovered a song and music video that completely and unarguably summarizes everything that terrorizes me about the 1980s:

I’m sorry. (Did you see the robot?)

It’s hard to see your way out
When you live in a house in a house
Cause you don’t realize
That the windows were open the whole time

#303 – Some Robots

with 8 comments

They are all works-in-progress. But it’ll be about robots and…stuff. Yeah, still working it all out. But this was a nice and easy excuse not to draw myself for once in a while.

Busy, busy weekend…in which I really didn’t do much at all. Heh. Does that make sense? No. Good. Here’s a fun tidbit though for you to chew over: Bitsy bought a bike, and it has a basket and a bell and is pink. She’ll be entering the second grade next year, complete with her My Little Pony lunchbox. Everyone say awww… 😛

#242 – Freelance Money

with 8 comments

Looks like I’ll be continuing the work I started with The Outback Guide for Sandra McDonald’s The Outback Stars. The second book in her space opera slash romance series The Stars Down Under will be out in March 2008, and I shall be continuing forth by drawing some scenes from the first three chapters of that one. Woo, work! Work is nice. Keeps me busy, keeps me sane.

Anyone want to take a guess at my robotic servant’s name?
