Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part Three

with 2 comments

I see these posts are very popular with the WordPress crowd. /sarcasm

Two more bonus comics, one capturing the actual moment when “I love you”s were both finally exchanged after the initial slippage (aren’t you jealous you yourself don’t have such documentation of your SO’s adoration and affection for you to refer to through all of time?):

And then there’s this one about ordering Chinese food:

Speaking of that, tonight is the season 5 finale of LOST and I’m thinking I need to throw myself a lonesome party and get some general tso chicken. Yes? Yes.

Follow me down through the streets of the states
Make up a reason not to come for old time sake
Nothing in this town could ever change
Except maybe new lines on your face

Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part One

with 2 comments

Well, still currently sick and I tried to draw last night, but got quickly frustrated and stopped. So don’t expect anything new here for a little bit. BUT…I do have old MyLifeComics to show y’all! All week-long, too. You can start bouncing in your seat now.

Back in the day I decided I’d try and make a print zine out of my daily comics, an idea which flopped because I struggled with the zine-making process and probably need help and someone to guide me along the way if I’m ever to do this again. An incentive, however, to get people interested in these were the notion of bonus comics. Y’klnow, extra stuff. I kept them hidden from the online world for too long though…

So here’s the first two from August 2008, never before seen:

2008-08-01BTara loves that one. She enjoys potty humor, I guess. 😛

Here’s another, with slippage, and considering our one-year anniversary was yesterday (true fact: nine out of ten people don’t care) is pretty timely:

I’ve got a Dungeon Master’s Guide
I’ve got a 12-sided die
I’ve got Kitty Pryde
And Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do

Name Our Boxy Baby

with 18 comments

xboxcomic

Yup, that’s right. Tara popped one out, and it’s a next-gen videogame system! Dun dun dunnnnn. I guess the ultrasound lied.

Okay, truth is, I saved up me moneys from published short stories and freelance art gigs and made the big purchase a few days ago. It’s heavenly and amazing and superawesometimetown (not a word). But there’s a problem. As evidence shows, I can’t help but name inanimate objects (Tara says, “Don’t call our baby an inanimate object!”), but I’m struggling to come up with one for the ol’ Xbox 360. I need your help. Some criteria to consider:

  1. It’s a boy.
  2. It’s name cannot be Sam, Samuel, Samwise, Sammy, Sammich, Samamamamamama, or anything else Sam-like.
  3. It does not have to be an actual name. Considering my laptop’s name is Macaroni.

If I lurve your name (lurve is a greater state of love, for those not in the know), you might just get a free drawing out of this. So suggest away, and may your babies be plentiful!

Go go go
Go have a baby
Go have a baby
Baby, baby

Practice makes perfect, they say.

And I’ve followed you around
I’ve seen you all over town
I’ve got a laundry list telling me why
It all goes to prove I was right

The Day of Reckoning and Exchanging Gifts

with 10 comments

2008-12-27

Ah, the return of the great chibi Paul! Between Tara and I, this day was jokingly referred to as the Day of Reckoning. It marks the first time in all my multitudinous relationships that I’ve ever had to do such a thing. You know, have a sitdown with the girlfriend’s father and explain what our relationship is about. Guess I’m an adult now though. Anyways, I had all the symptoms of a nervous soul/creepy neighbor hiding in a van: sweaty palms, uneasy giggle, shifty eyes, flushed face, and so on. But we got through it, for better or for worse.

And then it was time to exchange Christmas gifts:

Er, my bad. Also, this might be a bit funnier now that you have the above information. Tears make the holiday, right? 😛

Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through

Um, in case you are having trouble napping on your own, here’s a helpful how-to…

I’ve been stuck on your foreign eyes
They have struck for better boys
We put your lives on our shoulders
But these arms are too weak to hold us
