It was bad. Other words to describe the experience include: abominable, atrocious, awful, contemptible, criminal, dire, disgraceful, disgusting, execrable, heinous, loathsome, low, malodorous, mean, obnoxious, peccant, putrid, rancid, rank, reprehensible, repulsive, rotten, sad, scandalous, shameful, sickening, stinking, terrible, unfavorable, vile, villainous, wicked, wretched, and wrong. Really, any of those will work. Also, doodie.
If you’ve read the book, I suggest you stay far, far away. If you haven’t read the book, let me spoil one part for you in the hopes that you’ll understand I’m doing it for your own good and to save you money and time and brain cells: you will, in all seriousness, witness teenage kids tripping on drug cookies while a satyr line-dances to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”
(Special thanks to Panlexicon for this entry.)
‘Cause I am due for a miracle
I’m waiting for a sign
I’ll stare straight into the sun
And I won’t close my eyes
Till I understand or go blind
– “Stare at the Sun” by Thrice
Pretty good movie though.
I woke up, the world had fallen down around me
You were still there, and I didn’t care
For the first time, I knew you were a part of this all along
You were a part of this all along
– “Make the Cut” by Number One Fan
It was more magical than that trash bag scene in American Beauty, I kid thee not.
Some rules are made with all intentions to break
And she defends it with a warped rationale
And I’ve seen what happens to the wicked and proud
When they decide to try to take on the throne for the crown
– “Jaws Theme Swimming” by Brand New
I dunno… felt like drawing the latest weekend in terms of journal comics again because I do miss doing them from time to time despite having no future plans of returning to them:
How did your weekend turn out?
I made it through another day
Having a wonderful time
I haven’t felt the sickness
I think i may have scared it away
Looks like I’m gonna be fine
– “Fix” by Pedro the Lion
…it was more along the line of “Long live our sacred Germany!” Which, of course, means something completely different than the movie’s version. Regardless, even if you can’t stand American actors passing off as Nazis, Valkyrie is definitely worth a watch. It won’t surprise you, but it’s not meant to.
Passed down by the hands of the wise
And what they showed me was broke
Kicked out by the brute of the bunch
I never wanted a show
– “The Rest of My Life” by The Early November
I hid myself from failure and fear
Oh my dear you’re a threat to the bad in us all
They tell themselves that each word from your lips
Or the grace in your eyes overcomes any fall
– “Kite” by Copeland
It was all about the parka, really.
Speaking of Scott Pilgrim, I’m possibly going to be cosplaying as the leading lad for the upcoming New York Comic Con. So long as I can find a cheap parka to wear, that is. If not, I’ll just be a dude with an SP shirt and a lot of excitement, also known as a Scottaholic. Either works for me, really.
Question of the day: When did Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy get married (1984, 1988, 1996, 2001, or 2006)?
Let’s make a date out of the cinema
Then stay out until early in the morning
I always like it ’cause we take it slow
While everyone around us seems so hurried
– “On My Mind” by New Found Glory
