Things I’ve Named

with 15 comments

004-thingsnamed

So, help me out here and tell me all about the inanimate objects you’ve named so I don’t feel like a complete sociopath. Bonus points for truly geeky names. Not that we’re keeping score or anything, no.

I’ve become just like a terrible mess
Searching the lines in my face for
Something more beautiful than is there
But the crowds keep me coming back
Cheering

Kissing Goodbye Before the Entire World

with 5 comments

2008-10-25

Despite the irony that my initials spell out PDA, I’ve never been one to really smooch in front of family…or more pertinently, in front of the smoochie’s family. I’m such a dorkasaur that I even asked Tara beforehand if it’d be okay to kiss her goodbye, and still, the nervousness came. Oh well. We smooched, the world didn’t burn us to the ground, and as I turned to leave her embrace I tripped over a pot cemented to the ground.

Goooooooooooooo me!

Conceptual paths wide open, I’m scared to death
Existential weight no longer holds you back
Conceptual paths wide open, I’m scared to death
I’m ready for the future, I’m ready for what happens next

#341 – Feist Album

with 9 comments

You’ve heard of Feist, right? If not, here’s a refresher:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now that song will be in my head for the next 18 hours. One, two, three, four, so many pretty colors, colors galore…

Question of the day: What was the last CD you bought? I don’t mean downloaded off of iTunes. A real, physical CD. If your answer, however, is either Kidz Bop 13 or Monks Gone Punk: The Chants of the Night, you need to take a good, long look at your life and re-evaluate what truly matters.

N’allez jamais trop vite
Vous avez tout le temps
Attention à la dynamite
Prenez garde aux volcans
A ces jeunes énervés
Qui ne savent pas aller

#309 – Dance Party for One

with 9 comments

Hmm, I didn’t mean for the first two comics of the week to both be about techno music. Oh well. Guess that’s how life goes. Anyways, we all do weird stuff when no one is looking. Right? Right?!

Please report your leprechaun sightings here, by the way.

You want it, you need it
And all the answers you’re racing to find out
They might outrun you in the end

#238 – Most Embarrassingly Awesome Songs

with 8 comments

If anybody says anything–and I mean anything–bad about Paul Simon I will literally do the following:

1. Look up where you live on Google Maps
2. Put gas in my car
3. Drive to your house
4. Ring your doorbell
5. Ring it again
6. Knock really loud
7. Wait a long time until you come home from work
8. Jump out of the bushes and beat you down with my shoe
9. Grab some dinner from your fridge
10. Apologize before leaving

Got it?

Also, in news that only my mother will be concerned enough to want to know…it is snowing here. Ugh. Already? Thirty and some days left until sunny Arizona…

#214 – The Green iPod

with 7 comments

I’m a very patient man. There’s only been a few times in me life when I’ve blown my top–as the old folks say it–and one infamous instance is known as the Rooster Shout to those that were there. But for some reason, I just didn’t feel like standing around in Best Buy waiting for some pre-teen twerp to come by with a key so that I could nab a shiny silver iPod. I wanted to, as this ever-caring employee stated, get it and go. And that’s what I did people. Besides, I can name 593 things that are better green than silver. How many can you name?

#209 – Different Money Woes

with 14 comments

I don’t actually own a striped blue shirt like the one I’m wearing above. I feel like such a fraud! Granted, I didn’t need to tell any of you, but that’s the way my river flows…
