…and you thought your life was exciting!

#244 – Beach House

with 10 comments

The place even had one of those telephones…with a cord. Gah! What is this, the early 1990s?

Anyways, one year ago I decided to draw a comic about my exciting (meaning not exciting) life. Weird. Is this what it’s like to be a father? Not that I birthed this baby of mine or anything…

In lieu of singing happy birthday, feel free to send me cupcakes all day long.

#239 – Er, Genitals

with 6 comments

It never ended. We were playing the party game called Things, which is fun, so long as you take it somewhat seriously. Which I didn’t. I still can’t get the word out of my head. And hopefully now you won’t be able to either. Seriously, the word came to mind on just about every setup given…

Things that are furry…
Things that make funny noises…
Things that you don’t want to find in a sandwich…
Things that burn easily…
Things that are hard to juggle…

Go on, tell me your answers.

#227 – Snot Hand

And the winner for Human of the Year Award goes to…the guy above! This happened at Target, too. Target. I mean…sure, I could see this kind of thing going down in Wal-Mart or Bed, Bath, & Beyond, but not the class act that has everything anyone could possibly need.

With that said, tis my sister D’s birthday today. Let’s all belt out a tune for her, yes?

Hmm, I hope she likes that. I wrote it myself. Just now. Like, in five seconds. Happy birthday, D!

#183 – Car’s B-day

I have nowhere to go. :/

I live in New Jersey. Tell me of a place where I could drive to put on lots of miles while having a darned good time as well. Bonus points if it is a place that has a variety animals and rhymes with poo.

#178 – Curses!

with 3 comments

Yeah, I really didn’t want to draw anymore come those last two panels. Oh well. Still, an enjoyable game. Other curses that happened were: every time someone spoke they had to pretend they were being attacked by a swarm of bees, whenever someone clapped a person had to take a bow, whenever someone stood up someone had to yell out a pizza topping, and my favorite was someone having to pretend to talk through a police radio for the entire night. Good stuff. Just not with a lady trashed off a few Smirnoffs. Supposedly, she doesn’t remember being a drill sergeant or yelling at anybody. Oi.

That’s pronounced PEH-TWO-EE. Yeah, I can’t explain it, really. It just sort of happened. Put a stick in my hand that shoots out flaming balls (that’s how the package describes fireworks) and the next thing you know I’m part of Dumbledore’s Army or something. You-Know-Who ain’t got nuffin’ on You-Know-Me. Er, ignore that.

Clearly, I need some coffee.

Weekend plans? Mine seem to be laundry, a friend’s birthday party, and sleeping. Yes, lots of glorious and beautifully dreamless sleep.

P.S. How funny do I think having one of my comics posted over at some blog called Daily Herpes News is? Very, very funny.

#156 – Socks

Sometimes, late at night, I can still hear their cries. I suspect this is the sort of gift that is meant to benefit others more than myself. I don’t know. I get sort of attached to my clothing no matter how old or tattered it gets. I still wear things from many moons ago. At one point, I was still wearing a black-and-white Joy Division t-shirt that a girl gave me in and around 8th grade. Eventually, it disintegrated. So sad, so very, very sad.

Do you have a favorite piece of clothing that, despite the holes and stains, you just can’t get rid of?

#154 – Rained On

with 3 comments

This rain came out of nowhere. And see that short distance from my building to my car? Yeah, you got drenched. But we toughed it out. Hey, a boy’s gotta eat on the day after his birthday. The drive was worse though. Some parts of the highway were flooded, and me having a tiny car, I was worried you’d end up seeing me on the news later drifting down Route 46 or something.

After driving through some deep water my mother made me tap on the breaks a bazillion times to make sure they were workin’. She’s crazy. Also, she’s in the other room right now yelling to my father about something to do with cooking breakfast. Ah, good to be home.

Tonight I am seeing one of the few women that I’d actually propose to. I’ll let you ponder that one over the weekend…

My 150th comic! Woo! Someone bust out the cupcakes and techno music. It’s party time.

I got some excellent birthday cards, and after hours and hours of deep and careful thought I’ve decided that the one from my sister D is simply the best. It begins innocently enough:

And then, relentlessly, takes a turn for the worse:

Um, that’d be me for you slower folks out there. Please send cake, preferably the ice cream kind with crunchies.
