Tara’s Breath of Life

with 5 comments

One more for the night:

guestcom

This happened on our way back from Philcon in November 2008, but I’m only getting around to posting it now because…well, I can be forgetful at times. Anyways, Tara is probably going to be the next Mother Theresa. She’s that kind, especially to frozen bees. And she’s allllllllllllllll mine.

So yeah, enjoy. I’ll have to look around and see what else I can post to keep this place happening while I get Supertown going…

Go Up a Level – Change Litter Box

with 5 comments

changelitterbox

This one’s all for Tara, who is cat-sitting four kitty cats for a week and some days. I witnessed a couple of litter box changing sessions during my short visit with her, and boy-oh-boy, nothing craps like a cat. Go up a level, darling. You’ve earned it.

You say black I say white
You say bark I say bite
You say shark I say hey man
Jaws was never my scene
And I don’t like Star Wars

A Comic Strip from Many Years Ago

with one comment

paul-cartoon

…ah, yeah. 1998. What a year for drawing about cats eating frogs eating flies! I guess that would place me at around…15 years old. Eep! Also, please note that I still letter my comics THE SAME FREAKING WAY ELEVEN YEARS LATER.

So yeah, my sister D was recently cleaning up around her condo and she stumbled upon a letter I wrote to her when she was in college, and this half-pint of a comic strip was included. I have no recollection of ever drawing it or writing it, but that’s the best part about unearthing this lost “gems.” I’m sure there’s more out there…yet this makes me sad still about the Appalling Purging of 2000, where I trashed and ripped up a ton of my stuff in an angst-emo-fueled fit of rage. Sigh…

We didn’t start the fire
But when we are gone
Will it still burn on, and on, and on, and on…

Chewy Gets Suddenly and Terribly Sick

with 5 comments

2008-12-30

Poor, little fella. The good news is he’s doing all right now. The bad news was he had [name of sickness thing that hopefully Tara will know because I’m currently drawing a blank], which, despite myself never having experienced, is not a fun time. Lots of vomiting, lots of unpleasantness, lots of sad puppy eyes. He had to stay at the animal hospital for two nights, but it was for the better as he got the right care and attention. He just needs to watch what he eats…an objective not easily achieved as Chewy will eat just about anything within a lick’s length.

Sleep, she comes to steal the ones who
Fill their glass and leave the rest
Whose teeth get brushed, who eat enough
And who know how to treat their friends

Stressing Out Over a Short Story

with 12 comments

The short story in question can be found here: http://www.farragoswainscot.com/2008/8/pigment.html

REMINDER: I’m posting TWO comics a day until the week is over. Check below for an earlier comic!

No lyrics today. Tara is playing Kirby on the SNES in the background, and it has some bouncy, techno-esque tunes. Take that as you will…

Trying to Send a Simple Otter E-Card

with 9 comments

I blame the…Internet?

To rectify this situation, here’s what the e-card might’ve looked like:

I know, I know. Dorkasaur, right here…

Well I suppose we’ll all make our judgment call
We’ll walk it alone, stand up tall, then march to the fall
So we better be happy now that we’ll all go home
