  1. Hehe, I’ve never liked tomatoes…..something about them…just…ehhh…

but at least you like them, so I can always give them to you 🙂

It was a really crappy day, and more the reason to go see you—I was driving home and I was like “paul, paul, paul, paul” so it was pretty inevitable that I would end up on your doorstep :p

  4. Tara: Mmm, twas nice! Feel free to give me all your tomatoes yo.

    Girly: I do what I can, when I can…

Bitsy: True that! She’ll outlive us all.

  5. I like tomatoes in ketchup, pasta sauce, and pizza sauce. Rarely on a greasy burger.

    Was it a Quizno’s sandwich?

  6. it was a GIANT quizno’s sandwich—with turkey and lettuce and such–

I felt bad, but he insisted I have some.

I think it’s the gooeyness and weird consistency of the tomato that turns my stomach…

  7. I LOVE tomatoes. LOVE. In fact one of my favorite things of all time to eat is a homegrown tomato sandwich…tomatoes from the supermarket don’t have the right flavor (i.e. not enough flavor) so alas I rarely get to savor one of these.

I lot of people don’t like tomatoes though – a surprising amount actually.

  8. 1979 and I are on the same wavelength when it comes to tomatoes. Pure Love. Especially the homegrown tomato sandwich. You are so right about supermarket tomatoes…and most restaurants, for that matter. I really eat them if they’re in a salad that I get in a restaurant because they’re just bland and have a funky texture or something.

I grow them at home, so I have plenty during the summer. Alas, I have two left from my tomato plant that are sitting on my kitchen counter right now. After they’re gone…I’ll just have to wait until next summer.

  9. I’ve probably only had really gross tomatoes… I have never had the opportunity to eat them fresh…

The only time I can eat them is if they are prepared with salt, vinegar(among other tasty stuff) and chopped up finely like Bruschetta. That remains to be the only way I will eat tomatoes.
