#179 – Wants

What do you want?

Whew, another weekend is upon us. This week felt extra slow for some reason. Maybe because it’s been nothing but rain, drizzle, cold, rain, drizzle, cold here in good ol’ Joisey. Eh, either way, I’m glad for the weekend to be here. I’ll be traipsing down the Parkway later for a fun two-hour drive to my parents. Then it is a cycle of eating, drinking, and sleeping. Well, there’ll be other stuff happening too, I’m sure. I’d eventually like to see one of these films: Stardust, Rescue Dawn, or The Borne Ultimatum. And drink wine.

Got any plans better than mine? Bring it on, and have a lovely weekend. 🙂

  1. You want your own Asian juggler?
You know what I want – I’ve already sent you my X-Mas list. But let’s tack on: world peace, the forgiveness of my student loans, a house that I can afford, my soulmate coming into my life, and a personal trainer.
I was supposed to work at CPK after school today. I got my shift covered b/c I have this headache that has been lingering. I am house sitting at Chelly’s.
I will drink drinks, watch free cable, play with the doggie, and go swimming in the pool.
Saturday I am going to a baby shower and then CPK.
Sunday I am watching the MIami Ink Marathon on Bravo.
Have fun at home – I know they are looking forward to having you home!
    Hugs not thugs,

  2. More like my own personal sushi chef. Also, back to your X-mas list, I see that the stupid horse movie Hidalgo is still on there? Didn’t I get you a gift card to use to buy that DVD? Hmmmmmmmmm? Thought so!

Hope the headache goes away. Enjoy your free cable! 😛

  3. I’ll be drinking me some wine this weekend, too. There were lots and LOTS of wineries and vineyards where we were in upstate NY last weekend. I made time to visit one of them. It was awesome-I bought a bottle of red for myself and a red & a white as a gift (for my mom who was puppy-sitting for us.) It was cool because the wine was made from the grapes growing right outside the front door.

As for this weekend, I’ll probably just be chillin’ after the craziness of last weekend (and, of course, drinking that wine.) Driving 10 hrs to NY, diving Sat & Sun, driving another 1 1/2 hrs up to Niagara Falls, walking around there all afternoon & going back at night to see the fireworks, then the 15 hour drive back to Va Beach. Traffic accidents, rain and fog tacked on several extra hours to our return trip, UGH! But at least it gave me time to read Valente’s In the Night Garden.

  4. Hmm, yeah it sounds like you need to just relax this weekend, Trina. You can drink more wine, too! Red’s my favorite. How’s Valente’s book? I’ve been meaning to read some of her stuff, but haven’t gotten around to it just yet.

  5. Valente’s book was awesome. Wonderful, wonderful story-telling. If you read her previous books and thought they were somewhat…abstract, veiled, inscrutable, maybe, (actually those are some of the reasons why I enjoyed her other books) then definitely give this one a go. Especially if you like fairy tales and strange beasties!

  6. Vegas, baby. Vegas.

  7. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Warning: be careful of the little men on the streets that pass out pornographic material. Just taking one will not please them.

  8. First, let’s psycho-analyze your “wants.”

    – a laptop – doesn’t everyone have one?
    – a dinosaur – didn’t you learn your lesson from Denver the Dinosaur?
    – the Asian guy – is this “inner peace?”
    – a robot – perfectly normal, but generally come with more, um, anatomy……of the female persuasion
    – HBO DVDs – seeing as I just finished Season 2 of Deadwood on DVD and expect to roll into Season 3 this weekend, I’m right there with you
    – a Wii – if I had $250 to spare, I’d get one too, but instead I bought a $130 SUB flash drive that doesn’t work and a kick-ass knife for $110
    – true love – umm, are you a Ross Geller fan or do you just like monkey love?

As for weekend plans, they will likely involve my sweating my nards off cutting the grass. I’m hoping my dad’s grass doesn’t need cut as well. After that, maybe a birth, but I’m betting not.

PS – Interesting side note – after I ran Google’s spell check, my post got switched around. How odd.
