Are You Dead?

Some days I just wonder…
Also, curses, I forgot to draw in Osama bin Laden. I’d like to know about his status, too. Don’t you?
Baby, baby don’t treat me this way
I’m gonna make it again someday
There’s just one thing I’d like you to know
I got no more to lose if you go

Winning the Lottery

Aw, poor Momma Dukes. Everyone wish her a happy birthday to make up for this (it was yesterday and the entire country had the day off from work in celebration so you owe her something)!
Anyways, this took place at the school my oldest sister teaches at so all money went to a good cause. Lots of food baskets or um…girly baskets (think: lotions, creams, smelly stuff). But truly, I hit the jackpot. It’s been at least four months now and thanks to this wonderfully-themed basket I’ve yet to have to purchase any coffee from the grocery store. Here’s some good artwork that accompanied my free goodies:

Thanks again, Mrs. Tran’s 4th grade class! You rock with your coffee donations. But, alas, not every item in the coffee basket was a winner, as evidenced below:

I wish I’d see your face below
I wish I’d hear you whispering low
But you don’t live downtown no more
And everything must come and go

Go Up a Level – Change Litter Box

This one’s all for Tara, who is cat-sitting four kitty cats for a week and some days. I witnessed a couple of litter box changing sessions during my short visit with her, and boy-oh-boy, nothing craps like a cat. Go up a level, darling. You’ve earned it.
You say black I say white
You say bark I say bite
You say shark I say hey man
Jaws was never my scene
And I don’t like Star Wars

A Page of Doodles is Worth a Thousand Words

I’m a pretty frequent doodler, a habit which dates back to note-taking in sixth grade, so here’s a full page’s worth of nonsense and scribbles. Enjoy them, if it’s possible.
The lights are all lost, there’s no one around
We’ve both lost our minds, nowhere to be found
It’s gettin’ hot, I’m not saying this is hell
but I swear, this girl’s a mess you could sell

Being Sick Sucks

Well, that’s how I feel about the situation, but here’s a poll for y’all to fill out so I can get a better insight into these sorts of things:
Every day’s an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories
And every stranger’s face I see
Reminds me that I long to be

Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part Four
All righty, here’s the last two bonus MyLifeComics from August 2008 that never made it online until now. Hope all two of you reading this have enjoyed them, and I’m sure I’ll have some new stuff up…eventually.
I absolutely love game shows, but not game shows like this:

If you’re a Home Movies fan (and no, I’m not talking about those mini videos you and your significant other make late at night in your bedroom), I love you and we need to get together for a marathon real soon because the truth of the matter is that McGuirk is our nation’s greatest overachiever and I want to be 94% like him when I hit my mid-forties:

Today’s been a career day
Futures made and fortunes lost
As I’m standing in the lobby
I’m waiting for the elevator to take
Me away
- “Career Day” by The Format (R.I.P.)
Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part Three
I see these posts are very popular with the WordPress crowd. /sarcasm
Two more bonus comics, one capturing the actual moment when “I love you”s were both finally exchanged after the initial slippage (aren’t you jealous you yourself don’t have such documentation of your SO’s adoration and affection for you to refer to through all of time?):

And then there’s this one about ordering Chinese food:

Speaking of that, tonight is the season 5 finale of LOST and I’m thinking I need to throw myself a lonesome party and get some general tso chicken. Yes? Yes.
Follow me down through the streets of the states
Make up a reason not to come for old time sake
Nothing in this town could ever change
Except maybe new lines on your face
- “Old Time Sake” by Kathleen Edwards
Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part Two
As promised, here’s another two bonus comics that never made it online back in August 2008. In the first one, please try not to focus on how badly I drew the waitress, but rather how annoyingly she asked us in a sing-song voice if we liked our turkey burgers (we did):

And then there was an escapade involving my father’s cell phone and the post office:

And still she finds that every time she runs
She leaves behind another piece of her
On every city street
- “Ocean and Atlantic” by Mayday Parade
Bonus Comics from August 2008, Part One
Well, still currently sick and I tried to draw last night, but got quickly frustrated and stopped. So don’t expect anything new here for a little bit. BUT…I do have old MyLifeComics to show y’all! All week-long, too. You can start bouncing in your seat now.
Back in the day I decided I’d try and make a print zine out of my daily comics, an idea which flopped because I struggled with the zine-making process and probably need help and someone to guide me along the way if I’m ever to do this again. An incentive, however, to get people interested in these were the notion of bonus comics. Y’klnow, extra stuff. I kept them hidden from the online world for too long though…
So here’s the first two from August 2008, never before seen:
Tara loves that one. She enjoys potty humor, I guess.
Here’s another, with slippage, and considering our one-year anniversary was yesterday (true fact: nine out of ten people don’t care) is pretty timely:

I’ve got a Dungeon Master’s Guide
I’ve got a 12-sided die
I’ve got Kitty Pryde
And Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do
- “In the Garage” by Weezer
Roommates Forever

Er, yeah…anyways, today is National Cartoonists Day. Go me?
Can I pull out all the stops,
and get out of this town?
I want to make you proud,
but I really don’t know how.
- “The Permanent Rain” by The Dangerous Summer
