#220 – Power Outage

You know this has happened to you too. You know you’ve felt both cheated and angry after all your re-setting of clocks. You know you’ve had to curl up in a corner with a bottle of JDs because you just can’t get over such a thing. You know…

I know…I know…I know. The digital age: it has its drawbacks, too.
Actually, the only digital clocks I have are the ones built into the microwave and the oven. The other clocks in the house all run off batteries. We use the tv in the bedroom to wake us up in the morning.

Hmm, I don’t think I could wake up to TV. I need really annoying beeping!

Maybe you need one of these:

The Flying Alarm Clock wakes you up with a loud shrieking alarm coupled with a little propeller-driven key that leaps off your nightstand. To turn off the horrible racket, you have to get out of bed and retrieve the key. The propeller flies the key high into the air and off into some dusty corner.

Hmm…How about a soothing wake-up call. Perhaps one of those nifty zen clocks I have been begging for, too many years to count. It wakes you up gradually with little chimes that start quiet and increase a little at a time, until you wake up. I’d love one of those! I wake up to my cell phone – everyday, not as much fun – I tell ya!
Hey D or Biff – get me a Zen clock!!!!!!

This is exactly why we don’t reset the microwave clock. Whenever we do, we lose power. Which wouldn’t be so bad, but our well pump is run by, you guessed it, electricity. So no power, means no water.
Think about that for a second…….
And that’s why we fill our tub with water when a thunderstorm comes through. I HATE to let it mellow when it’s yellow.

Down with the Zen clock!!! I’m giggling because with all the rain today I know I’m going to be resetting clocks. Damn!

TK: I’ve thought about this for a second, and have thus decided that the phrase mellow yellow is a-okay.
D: Don’t reset them right away. Resist the temptation/OCD!
